Privacy Notice — Draft
Who would collect information?
The final notice will identify the legal entity operating the challenge, its contact details, and any relevant service providers. [Legal organizer and privacy contact to be added.]
What information may be collected?
If a contest opens, we expect to request an entrant's name, contact email, state of legal residence, age-eligibility confirmation, written submission, and separately recorded permissions. The system may also retain timestamps, entry receipts, anti-abuse logs, and records required to document prize administration.
Why would it be used?
To receive and evaluate permitted entries, verify eligibility, prevent duplicate or fraudulent entries, contact finalists and winners, administer prizes, maintain a contest audit trail, and honor any separately granted content or marketing permissions.
Publication and sharing
Personal contact information would not be published in the random drawing. Sharing with hosting, email, anti-abuse, and other service providers would be limited to legitimate operational needs and documented before launch. Published story excerpts, names, photographs, voices or likenesses would be handled according to the applicable permissions.
Data security and retention
Before launching we must specify the storage location, access permissions, encryption, backup policy, retention duration, deletion process, and security incident response procedure. No security guarantees are implied by this draft.
Your choices
Marketing emails and permissions to use a participant's name, photo, voice, or likeness should be distinct from required contest administration consent. Applicable privacy access and deletion requests will be handled under the final policy.
Updates
The final notice will include an effective date, version identifier, contact address, and any applicable jurisdiction-specific disclosures.
